Free Flu Shots- Dec.13,20 & 27, 1999 1:00P.M to 3:30P.M. Dec. 17, 1999 8:30A.M. to 11:15A.M. at Coweta Health Department located just south of Hwy. 51B on Sand Plant Road. The Wagoner County Health Department in Coweta is offering free flu shots to area residents.

Coweta Chamber Of Commerce Second Edition  Christmas Ornaments-Nov. 15, 1999 The Coweta Chamber Of Commerce has ordered commemorative Christmas ornaments for the holiday season.  The second edition of the ornament, bearing a rendering of the Mission Bell Museum, will go on sale Monday Nov. 15, 1999. Cost for the ornaments are $12.00 each. Last year's ornaments still available For $8.00 each. The commemorative ornaments for purchase at Video Network, Robyn's Flowers, The Emporium and the Mission Bell Museum or order call Theodore at (918)486-2513. All proceeds from the sale go to the Chamber's general fund.

Charismas CD On Sale-The Coweta Band program is selling compact disc of holiday music by select artists. To buy or find out more about the CD call the band room at 918-486-6462.

New Coweta Alumni Association-Former graduates of Coweta High School have joined forces to organize a Coweta Alumni Association. The Association is non-profit organization, will be governed by elected officers and set of bylaws. Meeting will be held monthly once the organization be comes established. Members are sought from all classes, from 1991 through 1999 and beyond. Annual membership dues for the Coweta Alumni Association are $50.00 per individual or 75.00 per couple. Santa Claus Is Coming To Coweta-Dec.11, 1999 1:00P.M. to 4:00P.M. and Dec. 12, 1999 2:00P.M. to 4:00P.M. at the Coweta Wal-mart. Pictures will be taken for a nominal fee with all proceeds benefiting Wal-Mart's World War II monument project.

PTO Meeting-Nov. 22, 1999 7:00P.M. at Intermediate Grade Center. The Parent Teacher Organization will hold a general meeting. PTO President Mary Lewis invites all parents of IGC fourth, fifth and sixth graders to attend.

Community Thanksgiving Service-Nov. 23, 1999 7:00P.M. at Emmanuel First Southern Baptist Church.  Hwy. 51 and 127th. Street. All area residents are invited to attend this meaningful worship service. Vocalist from several churches will be featured. A Love offering will be received to help the Ministerial Alliance pay for food and gasoline for needy residents and transients. First Baptist Church 8th. Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner- Nov. 25, 1999 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The public is invited and encouraged to spend the holiday with others enjoying a meal of turkey, dressing all the trimmings. There is no charge for the meal and reservations are not required. Volunteers will deliver meals to shut-ins and give rides to those needing a lift to the church. Arrangements can be made by calling the church office at (918)486-2158.

Coweta Annual Christmas Parade-Dec. 4, 1999 6:00 P.M. at Downtown Coweta. The theme this year is "Christmas Blessings". Float Judging categories are  Business, Church, Non-profit. Plaques will be given away for first place in each category. Contact the Chamber at (918)486-2513 to enter.

Coweta Chamber To Host A Legislative Breakfast-Nov. 19, 1999 8:00A.M. to 10:00A.M. at Bill and Ruth's. Area legislators have been invited to attend and meet with constituents for a question answer session on ant topic of relevance. All Chamber members and interested residents are both invited to come.

Softball Group Meeting-Nov. 11, 1999 at 7:00P.M. at the First United Methodist Church. The Coweta Girls Softball invite parents, coaches and other interested residents to attend the meeting. The Coweta Masonic Lodge Annual Fish Fry-Nov. 6, 1999 11:00A.M. to 3:00P.M. at the lodge located on South Ave. B just west of the First Baptist Church. A donation of $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children is encouraged for a meal of fish, hush puppies, coleslaw, baked beans, dessert and beverage. Proceeds will go toward Masonic programs and operational expenses. Those attending are invited to tour the lodge.

Pancake Breakfast-Nov. 6, 1999 8:00A.M. to 12:00P.M. at the DAV Headquarters, 210 S. Broadway. The cost of the meal is simply a donation, with all proceeds going toward the holiday food basket program and DAV operational expenses.

Arts & Crafts Show-Nov. 6, 1999 at Shahan Free Will Baptist Church located 31/2 miles west of Coweta on 141st. Street. Featured items will be baked goods, including pies, cakes, cookie, and candies. A Homemade quilt is also being given away. All proceeds from Saturday's fundraiser will help underprivileged children at Christmas.

Coweta High School Class 1990 Reunion Organizers Seek Classmates- Coweta graduates are making plans for their 10-year reunion next year. In an effort to be prepared for the event. American Legion Zoal Stringer Post #266 Fundraiser Dinner-Oct. 23, 1999 11:00A.M. to 2:00P.M. at the post on South Broadway. Beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, dessert and beverage will be served. Tickets are 4.00 per person with children under age five eating free. All proceeds will benefit the American Legion Auxiliary's Thanksgiving basket program.

United Methodist Women Indian Taco Fundraiser-Oct. 22, 1999 4:30P.M. to 7:30P.M. at the Wagoner County Fair Building, 750 E. Pecan in Coweta. The United Methodist Women of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference will sponsor an Indian taco dinner. Coweta Slam Dunk Registration-Oct. 21, 1999 8:30 P.M. at Coweta Wal-Mart. Boys and girls in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades are invited to participate. Lots of openings remain on teams. Fall Revival- Oct. 17 to 20, 1999 at First Baptist Church 720 S. Broadway, Coweta. The Sunday services will at 10:30 A.M. and 6:00P.M. A "Pie Night" is set at 7:00P.M. Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency's Home Program Meeting- Sept. 21, 1999 6:30 P.M. at First National Bank Of Coweta Training Center. The program will be utilized to assist with the development of newly constructed home throughout the community. The Home Program is designed to assist income-eligible homebuyers in purchasing affordable single family home. Participants will learn the pros and con of home ownership, how to apply for a mortgage loan, how to shop for a home and many other steps in the home buying process. Special Election On A New Elementary School- Sept. 14, 1999 1.9 million general obligation bond issue to construct a new elementary school. The location of the proposed facility will be on Highway 72 east of the Reynolds Addition. Meeting To Address The Wagoner County Courthouse-Sep.14, 1999 at Coweta Public Library. An informational meeting regarding proposed renovations to the courthouse. Renovations will be funded by a .85 percent sales tax if approved by the voting pubic on October 12, 1999. Rudy Briggs, Jim Grabor & Jim Hargrove will make presentations during the evening. 1999 Miss Fall Festival Pageant- Sept. 9, 1999 at Wagoner County Fairgrounds in Coweta. Miss Fall Festival 1980 Alice Coe will be Mistress of Ceremonies and Miss Fall Festival 1990 Misty Denton Edwards will help choreograph the opening routine. Also confirming her participation is Miss Fall Festival 1985 Janet Meehan Dotson. The theme for the 1999 Miss Fall Festival Pageant is "Watercolor Memories". Public Hunting On Regulations-Aug.26, 1999 7:00P.M. at Muskogee Public Library 801 W. Okmulgee. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, regulation change can originate from a number of sources, including Department field staff, citizens and conservation group. Citizens will have an opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed changes. The proposed changes are deer hunting, prairie chicken, pheasant, turkey hunting & more.

Lions Club Fundraiser-Aug. 27, 1999 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at the Coweta High School commons area. Tickets are 5.00 each and all proceeds will benefit the Lions Club and it's many service projects.

Shahan Free Will Baptist Church Kid's Krusade-July, 26-28, 1999 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.  For children ages 4-12. Session will feature topic on respect, trust and "Garbage in, Garbage out". Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. An adult prize will be awarded and ice cream sundaes will be served after the Wednesday service. Land Run Celebration-July 29, 1999 at The Coweta Public Library. The library will host it's final Summer Reading Program session this year. Children are encouraged to come in period costume for the 1:30 P.M. session. Participants will enjoy snacks, pan for "gold" and spend their gold on various outdoor games. Parents who bring their children are asked to find alternative parking locations as the grassy area behind the Library will be blocked off for activities.

Soccer Signup-July 30, 31, 1999 Fridays 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Coweta Wal-Mart. Children who plan to play soccer must be five years old by July. Registration fee is $35.00 per player for the under 8 and above teams. A fee of $25.00 will be charged for the second child and third child within the family can play free. Registration fee for children on the under 6 teams is $20.00. Any player singing up after July 31, 1999 will be charged 10.00 late fee.

Church Of God Of Prophecy Vacation Bible School-August 2-6, 1999 nightly from 6:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Church in Coweta. The Ultimate Adventure with Jesus is an interactive learning experience for kids ages 3-12. Children will learn about the God who created them and loves them. Coweta High School Class of 1979 Reunion-August 6-8, 1999 A mixer is planned Friday Aug. 6 at Coweta High School. On Saturday, Aug. 7 classmates and their families will unite at Mohawk Park in Tulsa for a bring-your-own picnic event. Saturday night Aug. 7 at the Doubletree Hotel in Tulsa where a banquet and dance are planned. Reservations for Saturday night are required by July, 15, 1999.On Sunday Aug. 8 classmates will hold a morning church service at the Coweta High School with Charlie Jamison delivering the message. Little League Need Your Help-The CYB Coweta Tiger will be competing in the Dizzy Series set for July 23-29, 1999 in Panama City Beach FLA. The team is seeking financial contributions to help finance their lodging, food and transpiration cost. Mandatory 4-H Meeting- July 22, 1999 OSU Extension Office at 750 E. Pecan Coweta. The meeting will include certification, entries, livestock visits and the new 1999 fair rules for livestock. The First Baptist Church Of Red Bird Benefit Fundraiser-July 23 & 24, 1999 6:00 P.M. Activities planned are for Children and adults of all are invited to participate in volleyball, three-on-three hoops, hayrides and wiener roasts. Donations will be accepted. The fundraiser is to raise money for the church choir attire.

Spaghetti Dinner & Dessert Auction Fundraiser-July 23, 1999 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at The First Assembly Of God Church in Coweta. The Women's Ministry will host the dinner. A meal of spaghetti, salad, bread and beverage is planned at a cost   $5.00 for adults and  $2.50 for children. At 7:30 P.M. disserts of all types will be auctioned off to the best bidders. All proceeds from fundraiser will benefit the church's various building projects.

Annexation Public Meeting-July 26, 1999 7:00 P.M. at Coweta Public Library. The meeting to address annexation with residents living near the 101st. Street corridor. They will offer information regarding the city's annexation plans and what it will mean for residents. The primarily affected will be folks living one-half mile south of 101st. Street between 193rd. East Ave. and 241st. East Ave.

Thomas Community Church Kid's Crusade-July 26-27, 1999 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Community Church located one and a half miles east of Ben Lumpkin Road on 61st. Street. 33rd Porter Peach Festival-July 16, & 17, 1999 at Downtown Porter Oklahoma. The Porter Lions Club invites all area residents to join them in the celebration.

Porter Peach Festival Golf Tournament-July 17, 1999 at Hilltop Golf course in Porter. Cash prizes of 500.00, 400.00 and 300.00 will be awarded to the top three golfers. Porter Peach Classic 5K Run-July 17, 1999 at 7:00 A.M. in downtown Porter. Entry fee is 12.00 per runner. The first 250 entrants will also receive an official run t-shirt. The Porter Peach Classic Run and Fitness Walk is coordinated by Glen's Road Race Service out of Tulsa and sponsored by the Porter 4-H and FFA Booster Club. The Coweta Band Alumni Association Will Be Hosting A Picnic/Meeting- Saturday, July 10,1999 at 12:00 at the current Coweta High School band room. County Meeting-June 10, 1999 at Coweta Public Library. District #3 Commissioner Jim Hargrove has arranged for a county meeting on Workforce Investment Act that signed into law at the national level. The meeting is to address the residents what is can do for Coweta and the state.

Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) Meeting-June 12, 1999 3:00 P.M. at the Silver Dollar Cafe in the Kountry Fair Plaza in Coweta on Hwy 51. The B.A.C.A. is an organization designed to create a safer environment for abused children. Member's mission is to help children who have been abused to be strong and stand up to their abuser. Weigh Down Workshop Classes-Jan. 31,1999 at 7:00 P.M. at The First Baptist Church in Coweta." Weigh Down" is a weight loss program that uses no pills, no calorie counting and no special foods.
