A Farmer's Market-April though November 2002-Each Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Behind the Coweta Public Library. Call Chamber Director Tonya Freese at  918.486.2513.

Living Stone Teaching Church Hallelujah Night Party -October, 31 2002 at the Coweta Jr. High School Gym. Come out and have fun Playing games and getting some candy. For more info call: 918-279-1811.

Buckle Baby Right -October 12, 2002 10:00 A.M. - 12 Noon - Located at Wal-Mart off Highway 51. Free to the public - St. Francis Safe Kids will be checking car seats for correct installation, American Red Cross will be providing Kid Care ID Cards, and District Attorney's Office will be doing fingerprinting for the kids. Coweta Masons Car Show - Saturday September 14, 2002..during Fall Festival Located between Pecan and Walnut on Broadway Registration is between 9 am - 12 Noon First 100 cars receive dash plaques 3:00 P.M. - Awards presentation $15.00 for Car/Cycle entry fee Free Admission for public.

Mixed Company Band-September 13, 2002 8:00 P.M. Will be performing at the Pazazz Theater. Mixed Company is an entertainment group which lends itself to the type of function and audience they are performing for. His group can play a wide range of music styles such as classic and progressive country, classic rock n’ roll, traditional and southern gospel, songs of the forties and fifties upon request, and comedy routines. Robert Smith is the leader of the Mixed Company Entertainment Group and is very proud of the quality and professionalism that the group possesses. Because of the experience of the band, they can switch from a Branson style show to a company dance for any occasion with great ease.

First Baptist Church's 100th Anniversary-August 10, 11, 2002. A dinner is being held on Saturday evening at 5:30 at the high school gym. If anyone wants to come to that, they need to call the church office at 918-486-2158. On Sunday morning, there will be two services...former pastor Jim Banks will be speaking at the 9:00 one and Bruce Corley will be speaking at the 10:45 one. Coweta Roundup Club Arena 4th Of July Celebration Fundraiser-June 29, 2002 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. All you can eat hamburgers and hot dogs and more. Adults $5.00 Children 10 and under $3.00. Live country music and prizes.

Coweta Patriotic Festival- June 29, 2002 - West of the High School Football Stadium Activities begin at 4:00 P.M., which include: Sack race, water cannon, tug of war, egg toss, fishing, dunk tank, Jupiter jump, and many more... Concessions will be available Live entertainment and fireworks to begin at dark.

Circus Is Coming To Town-May 3-5, 2002 They will be setup at the Coweta Sports Complex just east of town on the corner of Highway 51 and Lone Star Road.

14th Annual Authentic Indian Taco Dinner-April 27, 2002 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Coweta tradition continues at. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic. The event originally began as one of many fundraisers to help pay off the mortgage on the building. Now it is the major fund raiser sponsored by the church enabling it to not only continue the ministry to the Catholic community of Coweta, but reach out to the whole community through holiday food baskets, food pantries and other contributions to the area. During the dinner the Women's Club of the church will sponsor a Silent Auction with 50+ items up for bid. Members gather the items all year long to provide a variety of items that appeal to women, men and children. The auction, in its 4th year, enables the Women's Club to host ·spiritual retreats and maintain the needs of the kitchen at the church. The public is encouraged to attend the Dinner/Auction from 4:00 - 8:00pm April 27, 2002 at the church located at 1100 South G Street in Coweta. Advance tickets ($5.50 adult $2.50 child) are available from any parishioner. Tickets at the door are $6.00 adult $3.00 children. Take-out orders are available by calling 918.486.4757 during the event.

Arthritis Self-Help Course-April 23, 2002 at Koweta Indian Community Center in Coweta. Human Services and Wagoner County OSU Cooperative Extension Service are offering a six week course to give people with arthritis the knowledge and skills they need to take a more active part in their arthritis care. The course will be taught by trained leaders, many of whom have had arthritis themselves. For more info call Wagoner County Extension Office at 918.486.4589.

City Of Coweta Free Dump Day-April 19, 2002 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The dump site will be located behind the Coweta Public Works facility at 206 Seminole. Items that will be accepted include metals, furniture and other miscellaneous refuse. Limbs, brush and other wood or paper related items will not be accepted at the Public Works facility. Those items must be taken to BFI landfill in Porter or Broken Arrow. Items that are prohibited include tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, oil products and any items containing Freon.

Wagoner County Free Dump Days-April 19 & 20,  2002 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The BFI landfill in Porter & Broken Arrow. Most items will be accepted at the landfill some may not. To learn more about what will be accepted by BFI, call 918.483.2871.

JOM, Title IX Meeting-April 9, 2002 4:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Coweta Board Of Education Building. All parents of Coweta's Native American students are invited and encouraged to addend.

Student Screening For 2002-03 School Year-April 8, 2002 for Central Elementary students. April 9, 2002 for Southside Elementary. April 10, 2002 for Northwest Elementary students. Children will be screened and enrolled by appointment only, beginning at 9:00 A.M. each day. The screening is free to Coweta School district residents. It will involve envelopment in fine and gross motor skills, cognition, speech, vision and hearing. The screening takes approximately 45 minutes.

Onion Dinner-April 6, 2002 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Davis Chapel is located south of Coweta on Highway 72 north of the Arkansas River bridge. Cost of the meal is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. All proceeds will go to church operations.

The Coweta Masonic Lodge Chili Dinner-April 6, 2002 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at First Methodist Church. The church is located south of the post office. A Meal of chili, beans, spaghetti and dessert will be served. Suggested donation is $4.00 per person. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Vester Collins Memorial Scholarship Fund for Coweta High School seniors.

Down Town Coweta Sidewalk Sale-April 6, 2002 Area residents are invited to downtown to enjoy the many day-long sidewalk sales along Broadway Street. Carriage rides will be offered to those taking advantage of the sales. A Talent Show and Opry are planned at Pazazz Theatre.

Appreciation Picnic at Graham Park-April 5, 2002 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The new park is located downtown in the 100 block of North Broadway. Picnic featuring hot dogs and all the trimmings. All area residents are invited.

Sunrise Easter Service-March 31, 2002 at Wagoner County Fairgrounds. The service will be hosted by The Coweta Church of the Nazarene, the Coweta Roundup Club and American Legion Post No. 226

Coweta Baseball Festival-March 22 & 23, 2002 at Coweta High School Baseball Field. Teams participating in the festival are Coweta Tigers, Collinville, El Reno and Tuttle. All baseball fans are invited to attend.

Cheerleading Sign Ups- March 23, 2002 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Girls interested in cheering for the 2002 football season. Girls that will be in grades 3 through 6 for the 2002-03 school year are eligible. Registration will be held at Super H on Hwy. 51 and the fee is $10.00
