& COMMUNITY TO HONOR FALLEN HERO-August 13, 2005 The community of Coweta shares the grief of the Graham family in the loss of Marine Sgt James R. Graham III, a true American hero. While mere words cannot express the depths of our gratitude for his service and sacrifice, the community of Coweta can honor James and his family by lining the streets of Coweta with flags in hand and hands over hearts. Please express your appreciation for a local hero and his family by bringing your family, your friends, and your flag, if you have one, to Broadway Street (Main) in Coweta between 8:00 and 8:30 am on Saturday, August 13th. 2005 Sgt Graham’s family will be escorted by the Coweta Police Department down Broadway Street and west on Highway 51 on or about 9:00 am on their way to Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am. Please start lining up at the south end of Broadway (Jim’s One Stop) and stretch north along Broadway through the railroad trestle. If there is no room left on Broadway Street (as we expect to be the case) please feel free to position yourself anywhere down the stretch of Hwy 51 from the railroad trestle northwestward toward Broken Arrow. If you own a flag, please bring it. If you don’t own one or can’t bring one, come anyway. Additional flags will be available at Dana Designs, 114 S. Broadway. If you wish to make a sign, please feel free to do so. If you live anywhere along the route, please take a short moment from your day to step out to the road. If you own a business anywhere along the route, please invite your customers and employees to walk out to the highway at 9:00 am to pay tribute. Donations toward the purchase of additional flags can be made through Dana Fransisco (Dana Designs), president of the Coweta chapter of Blue Star Mothers. Please don’t miss this opportunity to honor one of Coweta’s own, a Marine, a father, a husband, a son, and a true American patriot. For further information, please contact Bruce Hamilton (918-406-3463), Terry Adair (918-857-4121), the Coweta American newspaper (918-486-4444), or Dana Fransisco (918-279-1731) Every time you shed a tear of pride in our great country and community, thank our servicemen and women who have served it honorably.
